Should all of the used-as-source medias be removed when characters are tagged individually?
It also makes this work impossible to find using blue_archive[sample] query, I think media tags shouldn't be removed when individual characters are tagged
t164.3: It can only find work when searching blue_archive, but not blue_archive[sample], which refers to blue archive used as a source. I linked a search query in my initial post to check. Searching blue_archive causes an ambiguity between blue archive used as BGM or as a source.
Personally, I think it’s okay to remove the media tag for multisource works where there are only a handful of sources from that particular media.
t164.5: maybe this query works
blue_archive -blue_archive[category:song]
It seems this isn't mentioned on the search syntax page (though it was mentioned in the search example on the search page).
t164.6: IMO, it's less intuitive and more cumbersome, especially if category:song is not the only category you'd want to exclude
t164.4: Sorry, I see
It appears that the issue regarding references has already been resolved by yozba (t164.8:), so I would like to offer my own opinion on how things should be handled. I believe that if specific character tags have already been sufficiently applied, broader "parent" tags should not be added. Of course, this is not meant to imply a prohibition; rather, it is a matter of how things ideally ought to be.
最終的に整備された作品の理想としては、キャラクタータグが十分に付与されたならば、作品単位といった上位タグは付与すべきでないと考えます。
t164.8: I guess that works, but it indeed should be documented. I also see no reason in [sample] attribute now, as it's an inferior version of [category:source] and I can't really see a use case for it, other than to confuse people at this point
t164.10: This is a bit off-topic, but strictly speaking, since blue_archive[category:source] does not include blue_archive[sample], I think it’s necessary—since not everything has its own dedicated tag.
t164.12: For example, in Blue Archive, there is currently no tag indicating that the work uses Blue Archive sound effects.
As a temporary workaround, when tagging such works, you can check the “Used as a sample” checkbox for the “Blue Archive” media tag.
Looking solely at this example, it could be resolved simply by someone creating the tag first; however, if such tags are completely absent for other works, it’s unlikely that anyone would go so far as to create one.
There may be other examples, but for now, this is what comes to mind right away.
