i decided to upload a version of the video without the ending bit in case people didnt want to sit through that bad joke lmao: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9apfqeibhf49dtb/Divine%20Toylines%20%28no%20ending%29.mp4?dl=0
so here's my castlevania vid that was originally meant for october, but due to a bunch of different factors i wasnt able to get the full thing out in time for halloween (there's a mostly complete version pinned to my twitter at the time of this writing https://twitter.com/DJ_Paypig/status/1454463112912859147). on the plus side a bit before i scheduled this upload i realized that Diwali this year is from Nov 4th to the 9th so This Now Counts As A Diwali Special Lmao.
anyway i did plan on making a couple more castlevania videos but this past month or so has not been a particularly good one for me. thankfully i'm feeling significantly better, but it's not a linear process regaining your composure (among other things). but i will say making this helped out quite a lot because there was a point where i couldnt even bring myself to look at a video editor lol. at any rate this is for all of my ytpmv elf heads out there, this is an arrangement by Yosuke Yasui of the ever-iconic Divine Bloodlines. personally this is my favorite rendition of it writing-wise, the extra harmonies and counterpoint added throughout the track plus the solo near the end just make for a completely unbeatable arrangement
i had wanted to do this track for a long time honestly (for at least 4-5 years), but i didnt really have any good ideas or good base sources when i had first considered it. nowadays it wasnt even difficult by ear lol, Elf (and ytpmv elf/BGM 21) ended up working out pretty damn well. despite that, as i continue to make vids over the years i realize how tedious and lengthy it becomes to do every channel lmao. this veg was 47 tracks total (which is not even that many tracks compared to more ambitious ytpmvs/MADs) but i rarely try to cover everything in a given song due to that inherent tedium and the way my workflow is in vegas. i do not use the ruler or quantize to frames at all lol, just hand placing/syncing everything by matching the waveform(s). definitely worth it though because i have no choice but to go hard for the audio on Bloodlines in particular lol. also this is mixed terribly but thats because of the sources i used lmfao, not really a good way around that but i tried my best. shoutouts to cheng for the extra help with his wonderful singing
Enjoy!
