Description
This video is a collab with Baycun!!!! Took 3 Years!!!!!!!!! This video has been the biggest fucking thing either of us has done. This is a culmination of everything I have worked on up to this point but hopefully won’t be the end. It's a labor of love and effort that we have poured basically 3 years into. Started in March 2014, this took 3 years and 4 months to complete, though granted a lot of that time was either spent doing normal school/work stuff, or doing fun things together, and several times on other videos or music that the both of us have put out since we began work on this. I’m fucking glad I can put this out as it is a milestone of everything that has happened up to this point. We want to firstly thank Thatcomputerperson and Spriteclad, who both had very helpful and constructive input on various ideas for sections or themes to incorporate into the video, and Thatco even sent a very, very small entry to the video which you should be able to notice when it comes up. Baycun’s description will talk more about the specifics of the video while mine from this point on will cover my interpretation and emotional attachment to it. The immense time that this video took made it become a very unique product to me. The original idea for this video was to have the visuals be a progression of different eras of YTPMV and the different styles that encapsulated those eras. However, we spent so long on this product that it actually became much more of a personal journey. The video very much shows a progression in both of our styles and both of our tendencies as the video continues on. The sources we chose early on we grew to not like (cough, cough Howtobasic) and even the motivation for the video changed as time went on. The video was original going to be a gift for Goluigi (the creator of the song), however us growing distant from the creator made me personally feel like this video isn’t tied to his song or the sources or even to YTPMV; it’s tied to me and Baycun personally as our own creation. And this is where I like YTP and YTPMV to go, distancing yourself from the source material and using it to be a tool to express one’s own artistic vision. So, with all of that being said, I hope everyone enjoys this video as much as we put an immense amount of time and effort and dedication into it. Thank you everyone for YTPMV, and for being here, and most of all, for watching and contributing to this video as well as this community as a whole. Description This video is a collab! Everything by Dozzy & I. This video has been... probably the biggest & most significant video project either of us have worked on to date, & it's taken a long time to get to where we are with it. It'll probably be the biggest video I certainly have been involved with, I can't speak for Dozzy but personally I feel that this is The most important ytpmv I've ever made & most likely ever will. It's a labor of love that Dozzy & I've been working on for over 3 years now, started in March 2014, so it took 3 years & about 4 months to complete, though granted a lot of that time was either spent doing normal school/work stuff, or doing fun things together, & several times on other videos or music the both of us have put out since we began work on this. Regardless, I am overjoyed to be able to put this out, it encapsulates everything I love about ytpmv & everything I've wanted to capture since I started making these dumb videos, & it wouldnt've been possible w/o so much support from every1 in the community & adjacent to it who we felt were trustworthy enough to be allowed involvement/input/criticism etc. I want to firstly thank Thatco & SC, who both had very helpful & constructive input on various ideas for sections or themes to incorporate into the video, & Thatco even sent a very small entry to the video which you should be able to notice when it comes up. I'd also like to thank Creepah, for being such a huge inspiration as well as motivation for continuing this project no matter how many times we both got burnt out, for his sheer enthusiasm & love for ytpmv that has kept me going for a longer time than I thought I'd be capable of, & for his constant support of both Dozzy & I's creative endeavors. I'd like to thank Omni, who's always been a super positive force & encouraging person, who gave Dozzy & I several venues for not only him to take a look at unfinished sections of audio & video & give critique, but for also giving us an outlet to preview a far earlier version of this video back around...... Christmas 2015? It may have been of 2016,I can't quite recall. There are plenty of other people who were great motivators to help push us along & keep us dedicated w/ getting this massive project done, too many to name all personally but I'd just like to say that any1 Dozzy or I showed this video to in an unfinished state, thank you for taking the time to take a look, & thank you to YTPMV & the community as a whole for supporting & being interested in projects like this & wanting to see this video come to fruition. If anybody's interested in more technical information that went into creation of this video, I'll explain the fundamental surface level of our process that we went through to get this video finished. This was not a 2-person collab in the normal sense & approach that most have done up to this point, where 1 person creates the visuals & the other the audio. We both came up with a structure together with which we could divide both video & audio work basically completely evenly, so that every section in this video contains parts of the song that I covered as well as parts that Dozzy covered. I compiled both my parts & her's into 1 big Renoise file which I have been mixing & fixing & finetuning the mix of basically since the audio was completed near the end of Summer 2014, & since then most of our efforts have been put towards making all of the visuals for this video which were often extremely time-intensive & difficult for both of our computers to render as well as create, though of course all of that difficulty was well worth it in the end. For the majority of the visuals we both collaborated live on all the sections, using screensharing services like TeamViewer & Splashtop to be able to connect remotely & do work on eachother's parts, & we transferred files for the video starting with Dropbox before moving over to Mega for the majority of the production process. All in all, I'd say that though we split the work almost entirely evenly, Dozzy oversaw & pushed the overall vision of the visual side of this video a bit more than I did, since that is more her forte than mine, while I was responsible for the general final sound that we got as well as making the whole massive mix we made together work in all facets as best as I could. So, all of that being said, I hope everyone enjoys this video as much as we put a Huge amount of time & effort & dedication into it, & I hope it serves well as a testament to how much I love ytpmv & this community & I hope if I am to become far less active in the near future (which is most likely a possibility) this video will stand as our biggest achievement together as well as The best video I have ever had the pleasure of being involved in. Thank you everyone for ytpmv, & for being here, & most of all, for watching & contributing to this video as well as this community as a whole.
